Live the "Good Life" in beautiful Baldwin County ...Stroll to Fairhope's
uncrowded beaches or bike trail to Fairhope's Grand Hotel; enjoy First Friday Art Shows and Thursday's Open Market in Fairhope -- our retirees are having it all! Fairhope has several public fishing piers, but many residents find there way down to the Fairhope Pier better known as Fairhope's Big Pier because it's a great place to mingle and relax since there's always people you know there and aside from the Pier Fairhope also has a park on either side of it with a Duck Pond and in front of the Pier is a beautiful fountain and rose garden. Fairhope has more recently added a Skateboard Park and Dog Park, and there will soon be a bowling alley. There's almost year-round activity in Fairhope -- something here for EVERYONE to enjoy! Fairhope has grown in many ways, yet still very quaint, cozy, and charming. There are quite a few Artists and Writers who enjoy the quiet way of life along the Eastern Shore.
Fairhope on the Eastern Shore, lends a nice blend of new architecture as well as quaint older Cottages and Bluff area charmers, boutiques, and beauty all around. There are flowers lining Fairhope's downtown area leading to the Bay and Fairhope Pier (comonly referred to as "the big pier"), monthly art walks that include the Art Center and various downtown galleries, yearly Arts & Crafts festival, Mardi-Gras parades, and an annual "Lighting of the Trees" ceremony. In 1994, Money magazine named Fairhope as the second-best retirement spot in the country. More recently, it made the magazine's top 25 places to retire and is now ranked the 14th best retirement destination in the nation!
Baldwin County is loaded with golf courses; lush, green farmland; many new subdivisions. Other amenities of the area include 5 Rivers in Spanish Fort; malls in Malbis and Foley, and coming soon to Daphne, including a new Bass Pro-Shop; and new industry such as Austal and ThyssenKrupp, plus a large cruise line nearby in the Mobile.
There's a very high quality of healthcare in Fairhope and at Thomas Hospital. We also have a very large new Library, and college branches that include Faulkner State Community College with it's new School of Nursing and the University of South Alabama.
